I’ve heard that the LDS church is very encouraging about people doing genealogy. As I have been doing some internet genealogy recently, I understand why. Thanks again!

Comment on Six Basic Principles of Sharing Your Family History with Your Children by Janet Hovorka by Valerie LaRobardier http://truemiracleswithgenealogy.com/six-basic-principles-of-sharing-your-family-history-with-your-children-by-janet-hovorka/comment-page-1/#comment-646 Thu, 08 Mar 2012 12:36:34 +0000 http://truemiracleswithgenealogy.com/?p=4768#comment-646 Excellent tips, thank you. The first one reminds me of my eldest son once asking me if we had anyone “really cool” in our tree. I started by saying which ones were the DAR qualifiers, and he said “no, I mean, like a gangster or something”. He never broke the law [that I know of] and is a fine upstanding adult today…but for some reason that idea appealed to him at the time…the unusual…dramatic threads.

If my mother had not been with me, I would not have known the significance of the Moody surname.

And there’s another “true miracle with genealogy” with the Vest family (early generation) that I hope to submit at a later time.

I think my ancestors are helping us to “connect.”

Thanks for your kind words.

Louisa Ann Gordon’s mother, as far as I know, was born in Louisa County. I don’t know the name of her father [not identified on her marriage license] but I’ve identified a possible candidate.

What can you tell me about your Gordons? Did they live in Goochland County?

But one must be ready when an opportunity presents itself.

I applaud your research skills and determination to find your ancestors (and present-day relatives). What an amazing story about the way all your effort has paid off! Enjoy getting to know your new family members!

Do you know more about her. Where her parents were from. I’m looking for Gordons.
